"“la Belle Gallinara” By Charles Cordier (1827-1905)"
Large bronze sculpture by Charles Henri Joseph Cordier (1827-1905) entitled " La Belle Gallinara ". Executed around 1865, copy of edition in very small number or unique, very rare. This sculpture representing a young girl from the surroundings of Rome is a variant of
La Belle Gallinara with a vase on her head like an orientalist water carrier. The model of the vase is really close (or the same?) as those on the
Fellah Women drawing water from the Nile. Extremely rare bronze example of the
Belle Gallinara not listed in the catalog raisonné. Signature of Cordier on the terrace.
