"Nineteenth Orientalist Watercolor Drawing"
Very pretty orientalist watercolor signed and dated "André 62" for the year 1862. This work represents characters seated under a tree in front of a white mausoleum sheltering the tomb of a marabou. Often the body rested in a small house located along the roads, at the top of a hill or set back from a village. With a dome, this white house was easily recognizable. The belief said that this respected person, venerated during his lifetime, could still heal after his death. The colors are very beautiful and the design harmonious. The whole is protected under glassThe framingVery pretty orientalist watercolor signed and dated "André 62" for the year 1862.
