"Gaston Relens Composition The Sea 1938"
Magnificent watercolor. This work is dated 1938. Pupil of Gustave Van De Woestyne. He entered the Mechelen Academy from 1930-1936. He studied with Anto Carte at the academy from 1936 to 1938. He had as masters two of the great artists of this period Van De Woestyne and Anto Carto. We rarely find works from the pre-war period. This gouache is very powerful and illustrious very much the 1930s as a work technique. there is no frame and a few small spots on the gouache.
