This albumen print was taken by New Zealand photographer Arthur James Iles in Rotorua at the turn of the 20th century. A professional photographer active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Iles specialized in portraits of the Maori population. This photograph depicts an unidentified Maori young woman wearing a kahu huruhuru feather coat, a style of kakahu. Good condition.
