Object description :

"Daum Art Nouveau Period, Carafes And Glasses Blown And Gilded, To Be Compared To The Au Gui Model By Lachenal & Daum"
Daum factory in Nancy; Beautiful part of a service from the Art-Nouveau period, circa1900
(in glass or crystal - the cups have the stamp of crystal).
This set consists of two decanters; one slightly smaller than the other and seven bowls on a pedestal.
The blown glass is emerald green in color, each piece has a surface pattern punctuated by gadroons, the neck of the decanters and the rim of the cups underlined by a combed decoration painted in gold, as well as the perimeter of the feet.
The cups are made up of three blown and hot-glued elements; the foot, the leg (embellished with a knot), and the gadrooned bowl.
The carafes, identical in shape to the "mistletoe" model by Edmond Lachenal, are also surmounted by the same model of stopper decorated with a bay in the upper part. As for the cuts, they adopt a very similar shape to the "mistletoe" service mentioned above created in collaboration with Daum, with a slight variation on the leg.
It should be noted that the decanters have a slight opacity in certain places and that one of the cups has a small chip on the rim (see the last photo on this subject).
Wet carafes this small defect no longer appears, however for information, know that some professionals specialized in glass work are able to remove this small imperfection of age using hydrofluoric acid).
