Small box of oval shape in agate, frame in pomponne*, from the 19th century. This box is in good condition. A note: tiny little bumps and scratches on the frame, dirt and wear of time, see photos. * Pomponne: Alloy developed by two goldsmiths, Turgot and Daumy, installed at the end of the 18th century in the Hôtel de Pomponne, rue de la Verrerie in Paris. It is a copper-based metal intended to imitate gold or silver. Louis XVI had granted them a manufacturing privilege in 1785, whereas until that date, any imitation was prohibited.
