"Suite Of Nesting Tables By Raphaël Raffel - Cherry - Ca 1955"
Superb and rare set of three nesting tables by the French designer Raphaël Raffel dit Raffel. These three tables have a rectangular glass top and rest on an atypical base whose streamlined shape splits into two. This set is a beautiful representation of the elegance of French furniture from the 1950s. They are worked in a light wood that is cherry wood, offering them a certain luminosity. The slenderness of the base and the presence of a transparent glass top bring lightness to these tables. Raffel has notably worked with Maison Honoré in Paris. Large furniture house in the same way as Maison Jansen for example. His work is now recognized as one of the most accomplished and subtle. The grain and the knots of the wood give a little more relief. These trundles have great decorative potential. They are slightly varnished.
