"Pair Of Louis XVI Lights, Andirons In Gilt Bronze After Blerzy, XVIII - XIX"
Superb pair of Louis XVI lights or andirons in gilded bronze, late 18th century - early 19th century. They are decorated with tripod cassolettes with goat's leg uprights and garlands of flowers surmounted by a flame urn resting on a cylindrical base with foliage, berries, friezes of oak leaves and acorns, grooves and ending with a pinecone. Attributed to Jean Baptiste Blerzy, gilder received master in 1760. The original gilding is well altered but very present and very shiny. These andirons are very decorative and of a beautiful presence. This is a variant of the model adorning a fireplace at Petit Trianon. The threaded rods were changed in the 19th century. No signature or hallmark. Period late 18th century. Delivery 50 euros in France, 150 euros in the EU and 300 euros rest of the world.
