The 2 volumes. The author was a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences, he was a doctor of medicine. Born in Rouen in 1645, he died in Paris in 1715. A renowned apothecary, he was also an eminent chemist. He is a Protestant and his life is interspersed with problems due to his faith.
