Agar Rescued By An Angel - Very Large Oil On Canvas From The 18th Century (207cm X 150cm)
Artist: Non Signé
Very large oil on canvas representing a biblical scene : Agar, after being chased away with her son by Abraham, and nearly dying of thirst, is rescued by an angel.
In the style of the 17th century, probably an Italian school of the 18th century, but the hypothesis of a French school cannot be ruled out.
Very nice realization, the characters are superbly executed.
Unframed piece.
Solid wedge frame, very good quality.
Very good condition, without restoration, possibly to be cleaned but perfectly presentable like this.
The painting underwent a re-covering and a change of stretcher in the 19th century.
