"Henry Fugere. Early 20th Century Sculpture"
Sculpture "Au Tir" signed Henry fugère from the beginning of the 20th century. Spelter with bronze patina in good condition. Height 37cm. Port included in colissimo for France. Henri Fugère (1872/1944) was a French sculptor and medal engraver. Fugère turned primarily to the Art Deco style and initially specialized in playful bronzes of idealized beauties, such as in his figure of Salome. Other works show realistic depictions of soldiers or workers. For his chryselephantine works he used materials like bronze, ivory and stone. He also worked as a medal engraver. From 1893, he exhibited regularly in the salons of the Société des Artistes Français, of which he was finally elected vice-president. In 1927 he received an honorable mention.
