He employed skilled workers such as cabinetmakers Bircklé, Foullet, Topino, founders Guinaud and Cottin and gilders Prégermain and Fagard. Louis Moreau worked for a wealthy aristocratic clientele as well as for the superintendence of Menus-Plaisirs, a royal administration specifically responsible for the organization of festivals and ceremonies at the court which ordered pieces of furniture from him on several occasions under Louis XVI. Since his accession to the master's degree, on September 27, 1764, Moreau practiced rue de l'Echelle-Saint-Honoré, under the sign "On the descent of the Tuileries". He had taken over the business of his colleague Denis Genty. If his Work was very diversified as evidenced by a label found on one of his pieces of furniture with the mention "Made and holds Store [of different pieces of furniture such as] Secretary, Wardrobe, Chest of drawers, Bookcase, Cylinder desk, Table to play , English Mahogany Table, and everything related to Joinery and Cabinetmaking in Paris", Moreau seems however to have had a clear predilection for half-moon chests of drawers with two large front drawers and side leaves. A Transition chest of drawers with double projection stamped L. MOREAU and from the Kress collection is currently kept at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York.
