PAPON (Jean) - Collection of notable arrests of the sovereign courts of France. Order by titles, in twenty-four books. Paris, Chez Hierosime de Marnes and Guillaume Cavellat, 1566; in-8, epistle, table XXX-489 pages and 44 pages of directory, full calfskin binding, spine decorated with 5 bands, title label in red morocco, marbled edges. Collection which was published for the first time in 1514. This text was criticized by Cujas, but it was a great success. The author, Jean Papon, was royal judge, then lieutenant of the bailiwick of Montbrison and finally master of requests to Catherine de Medici.
