An engraved cow horn powder flask.

Bavaria, Germany, mid 18th century.

Measures 30cm in length.

To one side it is engraved with a very tongue in cheek stag hunting scene with the words ‘changeons minion’ and ‘c’est lafin de l'amour’, which appear to translate to ‘let's change minion’ and ‘it's the end of love’.

To the other side is a coat of arms upon an elaborate military trophy.
