"The Market Of Beauvais By C. Pallianti"
Morning Mood in the Market by Charles Marie Pallianti: Charles Marie Palianti has masterfully captured the mood and light of this quaint old market square. It's a particularly attractive Vedute, with a vividly detailed crowd in front of a Gothic church. Watercolor on paper. Signed lower left Charles Marie Palianti was born in Barcelona in 1815. He was a painter, a watercolorist of landscapes, views of cities, mountains, architectural views and scenes with crowds. He was a pupil of Corot and exhibited for the first time at the Salon des artistes français in 1870. It is not known how and when he came to France from Spain, as well as the date of his death. Most of his watercolors are of exceptional quality and one of them, "Les faubourgs d'Interlaken", is part of the collection of the Musée d'Auxerre. His works are rarely put on the market.
