Object description :

"China Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period, Red Hu Shaped Vase Decorated Purple Flambé And Elephant Heads"
China Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, beautiful hu-shaped vase in porcelain stoneware with thick oxblood glaze and purplish flamed decoration.
** XVIIIth Century **
Height: 23.8 cm / Max. diameter 13 cm / Weight : 1.200g
The object of beautiful shape rests on a small heel, of bulging cylindrical section in the lower part, its perimeter gradually diminishes towards its upper part to flare out noticeably at the neck at the upper edge underlined by a thick lip. Its shoulder is marked by a circular ring in relief, its neck embellished with two grips in the form of elephant heads.
It does not have any sigil mark. Note that the shiny surface of its thick glaze is "pitted" with a multitude of small surface chips of enamel that sparkle, lack of firing, impurity in the glaze or voluntary intervention...? for my part I find that it adds to the beauty of the object and gives it its uniqueness.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate, we are at your disposal.
