Born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1930. D he family of Italian origin, Simone Picciotto spent her childhood in Belgium and Italy. It was during adolescence, in Tuscany, that she began to take an interest in painting. She won first prize in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and subsequently frequented the workshops of Fernand Léger and Jean Deyrolle in Paris. Multiplying artistic approaches, Simone Picciotto creates from paint, collages, fabrics, recovered objects covered with shimmering colors which confront an almost wild line, generating a marvelous, magical world where beings, faces and bodies intertwine and s kiss. Simone Picciotto is above all a colorist, her painting tells strange stories that take us into a fabulous, enchanting world where characters that seem to come out of a comedy, rub shoulders with sphinxes, birds and whimsical animals... She also plays with shapes , the faces she paints, overlap and are worked from different angles. She tells stories, but they are not just stories, it is her doubts, her fears, her daydreams that she shares with us and we let ourselves be carried away by her nature as a storyteller as if we were in a theater, a theater Italian Many personal exhibitions are devoted to him in France (Paris, Oletta, Calais, Tours, Collioure, Lyon, etc.) as well as abroad (Switzerland, Hong-Kong, Turkey, etc.). His works are present in various public and private collections, such as the L'Art du Temps gallery, in Cléon d'Andran, in the Drôme.
