Object description :

"Saint Anna And The Virgin Child - Wooden Sculpture - French School Of The XVIIth Century"
Education of the Virgin Sculpture in oak wood French school late 17th century Saint Anna and the Virgin Child Measures H. 112 L. 57 P. 26 Excellent condition Extraordinary wooden sculpture with two whole figures representing Saint Anne accompanying the Daughter Maria Child The Virgin holds the book of Holy Scripture with her left hand and prepares to listen to the teachings of the Mother. The scene conveys a series of emotions. The tender and innocent gaze of the Little Girl, who will be the Mother of God, turns towards the Mother who instead expresses a strong drama accentuated by the force of the sculptures. It is clearly a work of exceptional sculptural quality which, in addition to a first-rate plastic movement, highlights an excellent state of preservation. The large sculpture was carved from a single piece of oak in the most classic French tradition. In fact, although the influence of Italian art is evident, the work is placed in the finest French Baroque production. It is difficult for large sculptures of this level to appear on the market and in these beautiful conditions. FIMA certificate of authenticity and written photographic expertise Insured and tracked shipping with shockproof packaging in a custom-built wooden crate.
