The 2 volumes. The author was a specialist in the matter since he was employed at the French embassy in Constantinople and then in the Crimea. Baron de Tott spoke Turkish and was perfectly acquainted with the institutions and customs of Turkey. This work was translated and read throughout Europe. Original edition.
