Object description :

"Pair Of Sgabellis, Renaissance Style Chairs In Walnut From The XIX Eme Century"
Surprising pair of decorative chairs with a central foot reminiscent of Renaissance-inspired sgabellis or stools.
they have a backrest but could almost look like stools. Manufactured by Napoleon III in walnut and stained beech, they are therefore designed with a tripartite foot finely carved with lions' muzzles resting on acanthus leaves and ending at the base with lions' feet.
the seat supported by lions' muzzles is round and decorated with an engraved rosette.
the antique lyre backrest is sculpted with floral motifs: olive branches and laurel wreaths accompanied by draperies.
some small restorations of use and maintenance, on the ends of the feet.
beautiful dark walnut patina.
they were passed to the workshop with xylophene for a preventive treatment.
the design of these chairs is astonishing and comes out of the classic models, by their decoration they recall models inspired by the renaissance and antiquity.
very decorative amazing chairs.

dimensions:
97 cm at the top of the backrest, 40 cm wide and 40 cm deep.
