Biography: Pierre-Désiré- Eugène-Franc Lamy said Franc-Lamy, born in Clermont-Ferrand in 1855 and died in Paris in 1919, is a historical painter of genre scenes, nudes, portraits, landscapes, watercolourist, draftsman. He was a pupil of Pils and Gérôme. Member of French Artists, from 1885, he appeared at the Salon of this group and obtained numerous medals. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1893.
He was first attracted by the Impressionist movement. Later, he devoted himself to portraiture and decorative painting.
