"Bureau Cylinder Changer Lyonnais Louis XV-louisxvi"
The frame is in walnut, the cylinder veneered in fruit wood frieze framed with Greek nets. The center is adorned with an engraved light wood vase containing flowers. These decorative elements are typical of Lyon productions at the end of the 18th century. Small sloping desks and secretaries bear witness to these decors. We find the same marquetry: engraved vases, flowers, nets of light wood as well as the mixture of solid wood and native wood inlays. Few of these pieces of furniture are stamped, an attribution can only be plural: A. Muller and AM Payan, Claude Gerboud, Pierre Zender, J.Jauffman. The cylinder reveals 9 drawers and compartments, below a large drawer whose closure also locks the desk then 8 drawers which frame a niche closed by a curtain, with vertical slats, sliding. Amazing control unit, a sort of small mobile bank. To roll the feet are placed on bronze clogs which enclose a metal ball, two handles adorn the sides. A currency exchange office for commerce in the city of Lyon in the 18th century.
