Persian Antique Kirman Laver Rug, Circa 1880

Beautiful Kerman Raver rug (Wash) Tree of Life late 19th. Circa 1880
Velvet in lambswool called "kork" (the best) on cotton foundations.

Blue field, decorated with a tree of life in symmetry with suspended birds framing a dish of floral composition. Double ruby spandrels with multicolored floral sprigs. Decor of earthly paradise, flowering trees of life, hinds, birds and parrots stylized in polychromy.
Remarkable finesse, beautiful color palette, a rug which, like silk rugs, deserves its place on the wall, like a painting.

Size : 220x130 cm
Condition : General wear, some areas of more intense wear on the upper part of the rug over 50cm (up to the level of the first bird in the center of the rug, at this level there is no more wool so the color is less intensity on these 50cm of the upper part). This difference is only very slightly visible when looking at the entire rug.
On all the rest of the carpet, low but soft wool. Shortened fringes.
