Dominique Trachel was born in Nice into a family of artists in 1830 He went to the Nice drawing school and forged a personal way, more oriented than the academies, to the later developments of the century Dominique Trachel seduced by its luminosity and freshness of his executions He never stopped painting the sea and then settled at 148 rue de France in Nice, with his brother Hercule, until his death in 1897
