Exceptional and rare Pair of Armchairs entirely carved with Chinese motifs, in the style of Gabriel Viardot, medallion backrest surmounted by a taotie mask, the taotie being a stylized and symmetrical representation of an imaginary animal, borrowing some of its features from the dragon (龙/龍, lóng, or 夔, kuí). Some other aspects relate it to the tiger around 1900, original upholstery worn and stained in places, bites on the base, they are stable and comfortable, the structure is perfectly solid, height at the backrest: 99 cm seat height: 42 cm width: 64 cm seat depth: 50 cm
