"17th Century Flemish School, Jephthah's Daughter # Rubens, # Antwerp)"
This beautiful Flemish painting from the early seventeenth century depicts Jephthah's daughter. This work is painted on a reinforced oak panel. We can attribute this painting to an artist from Antwerp, because the panel has been struck on the reverse by a hot iron, which has left the mark of a three-towered castle surmounted by two hands (the coat of arms of the city of Antwerp). This is a control mark of the guild of Saint Luke in Antwerp, which was compulsory from 1470.
