Object description :

"Club – New Zealand / Maori"
Traditionally called Wahaika, this type of short club was very common in New Zealand.
Among the many types of short clubs common to the whole of New Zealand, this type of club is recognizable by its rich ornamentation.

A beautiful dark patina with brilliant reflections runs through the object. This beautiful club with finely grooved and carved lines represents sinuous geometric patterns carved in the wood as well as two carved Tikis figures: one being at the end of the handle, the second being on the edge.

A small accident in its upper part is visible.
