"Throwing Club "
Powerful throwing club with an exceptional look. This exceptional object with an undeniable aesthetic has a head adorned with a ribbed crown, the handle is engraved with finely executed traditional geometric patterns. These clubs were worn on the belt by warriors in Fiji. After throwing it, the warriors struck their opponents with the handle, and not with the mace as one might imagine. The very beautiful patina of use runs through this object, giving it an important aesthetic depth. The handle bears an old label in English with the following mentions: “Chieftain's sing(-) hanled club. Pumpkin Type Heavily Incised. Fiji. Late I9th Century. Deceased Missionary Estate. I949 »
