Impressionistic winter landscape in Fontainebleau near Paris was created by good listed french painter and graphiker Pierre Eduard Frere (1816 Paris - 1886 Ecouen).

Frère, Pierre Edouard (Edouard), french painter, illustrator, drawer * 10.1.1819 Paris - 20.5.1886 Ecouen/Seine et Oise. Son of Paris music publisher; Brother of the artist Théodore Frere., father of the artist Charles Edouard Frere, he grown up in Paris. Stud.: from 1836 Ecole BA by Paul Delaroche. F. had to give the study up after four years, in order the maintenance that again grounded family by Ill. for likes and books to secure. He arranged many . Due to appreciative expressions of John Ruskin and regular exhibitions at the Royal Academy in London beetw. 1868 and 1885 F. was promoted also in England to the favored painter of the middle class.
