Contemporary binding in full tan marbled calfskin, double blind fillet framing the covers, ribbed spine adorned with fat fillets in black, double gilt framing boxes, significant gilt flowery decoration, title label in caramel morocco, gilt title , golden blade at the tail, double golden fillet on the cuts, speckled edges. The copy opens with a superb title-frontispiece embellished with a large engraved allegorical decoration. In addition to pretty initials, the iconography is completed by wide and delicate bands and figurative culispieces. Brunet I, Manual for booksellers and book lovers, 879. Worn corners and caps. Small superficial lack in the margin of the second cover as well as in the tail of the spine; which has an altered luster. Seams visible on the first cover; however, the bit remains solid.
