"Pair Of Armchairs From The Transition Period, Convertible Shaped Seats, Epoque XVIII, 1760 "
Very pretty pair of Transition period armchairs in waxed beech with dark patina, around 1760. These comfortable seats have a fiddle-shaped backrest surmounted by a decoration of flowers and foliage delicately wrapping the back. This vegetated motif is repeated on the front crosspiece of the armchairs. The four feet are embellished with a fluted work. The seat is composed of soft cushions filled with down. Genoa velvet cover fabric decorated with garnet-coloured flowers and stylized plants in shades of forest green. Magnificent set in very good condition, having obviously undergone old customary restorations. These seats are space-saving and extremely comfortable. Very nice work from the second half of the 18th century, around 1760 - 1770
