"Dressing Table In Walnut And Veneers By Jean François Hache In Grenoble"
Dressing table in walnut, nets and veneer, by Jean François Hache in Grenoble. Model still in the transition style, with a decoration of nets, simulated fluting, oval medallions of Louis XVI sycamore burl, and a general Louis XV structure, with elegant arched legs with small blackened chamfers. It opens with two side shutters, an adjustable central shutter fitted with a silver mercury mirror on the inside. In the belt, it has small drawers and a zipper sheathed in black leather decorated with small irons. A label, albeit damaged, but present confirms the authenticity, and the period of creation of this beautiful work. (label number XII of Mr Fonvieille's classification; 1780-1785) Very balanced work, both in line, with its pretty feet, and in the decor, nets, medallions and flowers on the central pane. Very good vintage condition Furniture perfectly documented: "Le genie des Axes" Red Stone; pp442 to 444
