Treated in terracotta and finely made with many details of great precision such as the features of the fine face, the buttons of the costume, the hat as well as the small barrel in the back... A few signs of age, a small chip on one of the rear corners, original cooking crack on the top of a shoe (see photos). A pupil of David d'Angers at the Ecole des Beaux-arts in Paris, Eugène Caudron exhibited at the Salon from 1851. of Molière at the French Theater. The artist is listed in Bénézit, in the Dictionary of sculptors, Editions de l'amateur, Paris, 1996, in the book L'Univers des bronzes Éditions Pygmalion, Paris, 1978 and many others.
