Object description :

"Henri Arden (1858 - 1917), Storm On The Beach"
Henri Arden (Antwerp, 1858 - Brussels, 1917) is a Belgian painter of the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.Henri Arden is known mainly for his seascapes, painting in his paintings scenes and landscapes of Belgian ports (boats, busy ports, etc.). This is how compositions evoking the great Flemish cities have come down to us (Vue du port d'Anvers, Environs d'Harlem). Arden has been very interested in the light and the rendering of the colors of the sea and the sky, according to climatic fluctuations (Bad weather offshore) or different times of the day (Sailboats at sunrise, Sailboats at sunset sun), an approach that brings him closer to Impressionism.
