"Art Deco Sideboard In Macassar Ebony From The Souyeux Workshops"
Rare modernist sideboard, suspended in a curved shape in Macassar ebony veneer with double box in Madagascar rosewood veneer on a thick base. A golden brass ring underlines the base of the boxes. Gilded bronze pull handles. Top plate in projection. Period circa 1934 Furniture from the Ateliers Souyeux in Nay (64- Pyrénées-Atlantiques). The latter specialized in exotic woods and luxury furniture. They exported to the palaces of the Near and Middle East, America, Algeria, Egypt...
