"Art Deco Sideboard In Macassar Ebony From The Souyeux Workshops"
Rare modernist sideboard, suspended in a curved shape in Macassar ebony veneer with double box in Madagascar rosewood veneer on a thick base. A golden brass ring underlines the base of the boxes. Gilded bronze pull handles. Top plate in projection. Period circa 1934 Furniture from the Ateliers Souyeux in Nay (64- Pyrénées-Atlantiques). The latter specialized in exotic woods and luxury furniture. They exported to the palaces of the Near and Middle East, America, Algeria, Egypt... They obtained the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900. See the last photo of their advertising from the time. Furniture restored Length: 188 cm Height: 102 cm Depth: 57 cm
