"Igbo Mask - Nigeria"
The Igbos form a group of tribes in southern Nigeria, crossed by multiple beliefs, however they maintain ancestral traditions. Masks are used in ceremonies related to agriculture. Mask with all the characteristics of its kind. Its small sagittal crest, its prognathic face, open mouth with clearly visible teeth, and its characteristic incision around the eyes and on the forehead. Traces of red colors in the mouth and white around the eyes and on the forehead give him his serious look. The old patina with black hues has a certain charm.1
