It was a part oh wall décoration or part of previously boiserie.
Neoclassical period, around 1770-80.
There is a view of the park with pines, cypresses, agave bushes, a Greek temple and sculptures on the balustrades. The canvas was originally attached to the wall (there are traces of ancient plaster / paint on the walls.
In order to expose the canvas it was fixed on the natural wood frame. In the photos another panel is visible, which comes from the same property. The two panels are sold individually.
