"Wladimir De Terlikowski : "the Blue Teapot" 1917"
Wladimir de Terlikowski (1873-1951) : "The blue teapot", oil on canvas 46 X 55 cm, mounted in a reverse slope frame in carved, painted and gilded wood 73 X 81 cm (some rubbing and wear), putting it well worth it. The very particular technique of this immense and prolific Polish artist living in France between his many trips, makes him immediately recognizable. Whether in his landscapes of Venice, Brittany, Spain, the Maghreb and especially Auvergne (he is one of the eminent members of the School of Murols), his portraits of All-Paris or as here in his natures dead, his ardor and generosity brought him success very early on. After short studies in Munich, he came to follow the teaching of Jean-Paul Laurens in Paris, but it was probably his libations with his neighbors from Montparnasse, Picasso, Modigliani or Soutine who influenced him the most! Even if he is a little unknown today, recognized and sought after in his time, he was exhibited from 1913 at the prestigious Galerie Bernheim Jeune and exhibited at the Salon d'Automne and is present in many museums. The "Still Life with a Teapot" that we are presenting today, archetypal of his work, of an incredible modernity (it is dated 17) with its plunging and offbeat composition, presents generous impastos always just in the pose of the key and the palette… Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone.
