This Pointillist Still Life on the Summer Terrace was executed at the beginning of the 20th century by the Russian émigré painter Sonja Rouchin-Vitry (in Russian the name of the girl: Соня Ручина). The artist was born in Odessa in 1878, died in Paris in 1931. the representative of the Russian school in Paris (in French: Ecole de Paris). Studied in Paris by F.Jumbert and G. Adler. Participates in the exhibition "The woman today" at the J.Charpentier gallery (1924), at the Salon of French artists (1923), at the Salon d'Automne de Paris (1926) and in other group exhibitions. In 1924 and 1929 was rewarded with two silver medals. The painting "The girl with the lace shawl" was purchased by the Luxembourg Museum in Paris. We know his miniature on ivory "Portrait of the mother of Tsar Maria Feodorovna (Princess Dagmar of Denmark, 1847-1928) with her son, the last Tsar Nicholas II of Russia"
