Object description :

"Brass Ink Compass, 17th Century"
Very rare model of a brass compass with a tip for ink, certainly German, from the second half of the 17th century. The instrument is not signed but bears a heart-shaped punch. This type of compass with a fixed, non-interchangeable point for ink is quite rare. The instrument is in perfect condition and measures 10.4 cm in length.
