Historical point: Egyptomania is a phenomenon that describes the fascination for the culture and history of ancient Egypt. It is mainly during Bonaparte's Egyptian Campaign (1798-1801) that the art of the pharaohs began to fascinate artists and collectors. Afterwards, it is with the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922, in the middle of the Art Deco period, that the fashion of Egyptomania is revived, which will then invade the world of fashion and advertising. This is mainly reflected in the shape of palmettes and lotus, the motifs in the head of pharaoh, beetle, wings of falcon.
