"Samovar In Silvered Copper, Louis XV Style - 2nd Half Of The Nineteenth"
Silver Copper Travel Kettle, Louis XV style, traditionally used to boil water for tea, and keep it hot, especially in Asian countries. It is composed of two elements. The base, with four chiseled feet, consists of two branches, richly decorated with Scrolls. It is equipped in its center with a receptacle, which can become a Small Lamp once filled with alcohol and garnished with a wick. Having thus become a stove, this 1st element which constitutes this Samovar will serve as a support for the 2nd, a container with a capacity of approximately 1.5 litres. It opens with a lid surmounted by a blackened wooden button, just like the generous handle located above. This Teapot part, rather Sober, however sports a sculpted pouring spout. Note that a grid is placed at the base of the latter to prevent the tea leaves from passing into the cup during service. The whole, practical, but also historically of Quality and harmoniously decorated, will embellish your moments of Conviviality. ******** Period: 2nd half of the 19th century Perfect condition.
