The reality is simpler. It is a Kabyle barber kit.
The two razors are entirely made of steel, in order to facilitate their cleaning.
The scabbard is made of wood held by brass bracelets, exactly like the flissas are.
BLADES They have the typical shape of Kabyle weapons. The back of the blade is decorated with geometric notches.
The original polish is still present: Longitudinal for most of the blade, and perpendicular in the part near the handle.
Length of the blades = 13.4 cm Width near the handle = 2 cm
HANDLES: They are made in one single piece with the blade, well worked with geometric shapes, in the classic Kabyle tradition.
SHEATH: It is made of cedar wood, in two parts, which are linked together by brass bracelets.
The outer face is decorated with inlays of brass threads
This set of knives is relatively quite rare, it is a cultural object of indisputable authenticity, collected in Kabylie in the last years of the 19th century.
