A Renaissance gold and enamel merchants ring.
Northern Europe, second half of the 16th century.

The bezel is set with a chalcedony heraldic intaglio with a pansy, the reverse of which was once brightly foiled but is now diminished. The shoulders of the ring and the reverse of the bezel are decorated with black enamelled scrollwork.
