Signed lower right: La Brige, pseudonym of Joseph Marie LE TOURNIER (1892-1972) It all started in 1950 when the Fromentier family commissioned the artist Joseph-Marie Le Tournier to watercolors intended to be reproduced in greeting cards. From 1950 to 1970, Le Tournier, under the assumed name of La Brige, produced nearly 800 watercolors on various themes such as hunting, boats, castles and French landscapes. Visible at the Courcelles Antiquités Gallery, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
