"Raymond Dierickx : "the Polynesian""
Raymond Dierickx (1904-1978) : "La Polynésienne", oil on hardboard panel 101 X 121 cm, circa 1950. Probably a fresco project, this Polynesian woman with green skin stands out against a bright pink background studded with shells... This was for us a real discovery that this beautiful Belgian artist! Even found in sheets and dusted, these drawings, once prepared and framed, reveal all the talent of Dierickx, close to artists such as Nicolas Eeckmann, Fritz Van den Berghe, Constant Permeke or other expressionists in a typically Flemish style such as Anto Carte, representing Festivals, processions, fairs in the great tradition of Flemish painters dating back to the 17th century with the Brughels, but treated in a very modern way. Other facets of his work show us his projects for frescoes or large decorations, often exotic, while in the old watercolors, we find a Symbolist vein with an elongated barrel. We devoted an exhibition to him (catalogue in pdf available by email) with the first ones found, but we have bought many since! Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone. In partnership with Galerie Lafouresse, we specialize in paintings on the Basque Country, the Landes and the Bassin d'Arcachon.
