Sarough from Iran, measuring 130 cm x 218 cm, in very good condition and dating from the 1970s - 1980s.
Very resistant carpet with beautiful colors, mainly brick, cream and blues applied on large foliage.
An important almost black medallion placed on a brick field, in the shape of a large flower and two large flowered pendants in the shape of a tree of life, typical of the Sarough genus accompanied by large mustaches.
The nuances are fresh and the velvet is in very good condition.
The pile is in good condition, the edges are impeccable, the fringes are short.
The rug is abundantly flowery and has well-designed, contrasting borders with the most beautiful effect.

The Sarough carpet, also known as Hamadan, the Ecbatana of Antiquity, is knotted in a few villages near Sarouk in the agricultural region of Arak. Some European buying houses have had buying agencies there since the middle of the 19th century.
Most of these rugs are nicknamed hamadan by traders, especially the runners knotted in this region.
Sometimes these carpets have distinct identities, and this type is the Sarouk made in the small town of that name but marketed in Hamadan.
These rugs remain very popular in the United States, where decorators appreciate the heavy and important luxurious pieces of wool.
