"A Silver Silk Brocade Panel - England Circa 1740"
Circa 1740 England Beautiful panel in brocaded fluted silk brocade decorated with naturalistic flowers. Manufacture of Spitalfields or more certainly of Macclesfields in England (according to British expert sources). Subtle gradation of color in the so-called berclé flowers, and in the weft, skilfully brocaded with silver curly strips of the most beautiful effect! Gold braid and posterior brown cotton lining, possibly from the 19th century. No defect. Exceptional state of color and preservation given its age. Dimensions: 225cm x 54cm.
