Circa 1840-1850 Italy Beautiful panel from a hanging with the tree of life or Italian Mezzaro of Genoa. Eight-color woodblock print with blue brushed over yellow to get green! Gnarled branches with exuberant naturalistic floral decoration, butterflies, birds, pomegranates, Medici vases and a Chinese altar! Two to three tiny slits in the cotton and some slight yellowing in places. Stable cotton and superb colors as originally. Dimensions: 200 cm wide by 109 cm high
