Avanos carpet originating from Cappadocia, and more precisely from the "Valley of a thousand churches", measuring 127 cm wide by 187 cm long around 1900.
The Avanoce are knotted by women in a traditional style, they present cheerful colors and original. the essential difference of these carpets compared to other Turkish carpets is noted in the conservation of the type of old Gördes, while adding an important part of originality.
The design of this style of carpet remains strictly unique to the Avanos, the mihrab, decorated with its suspension, the characteristic red, the twin columns often present, and a tight but never stiff knot, which make them fluid and flexible carpets.
These elements incline to immediately recognize an Avanos The weft is in double wool, the warp in wool followed by a velvet in wool.
